The book

What is The Bible in 1 Day?

The Bible in 1 Day is a free eBook by author and Bible teacher John Heynen that summarizes all 66 books of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, in plain language. Each chapter covers one Bible book and takes only a few minutes to read, so you can read the whole overview in less than five hours.

It is not a replacement for the Bible. It is a guide that shows you the big picture: what each book is about and how it fits into the one story the Bible tells. With that picture in mind, reading the Bible itself becomes easier and far more rewarding.

No theological background required. No dense commentary to wade through. Just the heart of every Bible book, made clear.

Your pace, your journey

In one day

Start at Genesis in the morning and finish at Revelation at night. The whole overview takes less than five hours.

A few minutes at a time

Every chapter tells you how long it takes to read, often just two to five minutes. Made for your morning coffee, your lunch break or your evening wind-down.

Alongside your Bible

Read the summary of a Bible book first, then open the book itself. You will know where you are in the story before you read the first verse.

About the author

John Heynen

I’m John Heynen, an author and Bible teacher from the Netherlands. As a journalist I spent more than twenty years interviewing persecuted Christians around the world. One conversation, with survivors of a church bombing, left me with a question I couldn’t shake: do we in the West really know the Jesus of the Bible?

That question became my work. I help Christians read the Bible, grasp it and live it. The Bible in 1 Day is where most people start, and more than 65,000 readers have.
